BigHand today announced that Seddons, a leading property and commercial law practice based in London's West End, has selected BigHand over their existing digital dictation provider to give them a stronger and more advanced technology platform that will support them long into the future.
BigHand’s Speech Recognition technology was piloted by six people within the firm, with a further ten people using their mobiles as dictation devices. Seddons plans to rollout BigHand’s Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Mobility functionality to over 60 lawyers and secretaries across the firm.
Beyond Digital Dictation, BigHand’s mobility function for tasks also proved essential for Seddons. For example, lawyers are now able to send through requests to book meetings and travel arrangements for their support teams to action whilst they are out of the office, helping them to work more effectively on the move.
James Temple, Head of IT at Seddons, explains the reason for the move.
“We were relatively happy with our existing system but were ultimately looking for an end-to-end solution, fully integrated with our PMS that supports our business as we continue to grow. By implementing BigHand’s Digital Dictation, Speech Recognition and Mobility solutions we can reduce turnaround times, improve the interaction between lawyers and secretaries and track work in a better way. We can help lawyers get more done by making it easier for them to efficiently send work to support teams, even if they are out of the office.
“The adoption of BigHand is a key part of our overall IT strategy, which aims to ensure that we have best-of-breed systems in place to support our future growth, continue to deliver efficiency improvements and ensure we offer the best possible service to our clients. This includes full integration with our PMS system, making it possible to increase productivity by improving our allocation of resources.”
David Jones, Business Development Director at BigHand, says "It is great to work with a forward-thinking firm so dedicated to future technology innovations.”
