With nine offices and 179 staff in the UK, the introduction of BigHand Speech Recognition to Chattertons law firm was a smooth process for both:
- Admin teams, who welcomed the additional time it created to focus on more value-add tasks, and;
- Fee earners, who saw the benefit of reduced turnaround times as the transcription of voice dictations was taken out of the workflow.
Liam Osborne, ICT Director at Chattertons, says: “BigHand has most definitely made a big difference to our business. A big selling point for the fee earners was being able to send work to a central dashboard. If that work is a high priority, a fee earner potentially has up to five people available to handle urgent case work. It also alleviates any resource issues with holidays or sickness; our administrative team can pick up work across our nine offices.”
He adds: “Looking to the future, the biggest change for us will be the implementation of BigHand SmartNote. SmartNote will automate the filing of all attendance notes directly into our case management system. This will free up even more time and resource for the Document Production Team to focus on other tasks.”
